My Iman Montessori welcomes students between 3 and 8 years of age to enroll in Preschool, Kindergarten, First and Second Grades. Our programs stem from two distinct methods of teaching: Traditional and Montessori. While our Lower Elementary program gravitates more toward the Traditional style of teaching, our Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms are structured around Montessori teaching.
Our Preschool/Kindergarten classroom is based on Dr. Maria Montessori's teachings and methodologies; we refer to her in pedagogy. Using her background in science and medicine, Dr. Montessori began observing the way children learn, and realized that, as children grow and become more complex, their tendencies and needs also change. Thus was concluded by her that methods of teaching should change as children do.
MIM offers four different levels of education:
1. Preschool/Kindergarten (3-6 Classroom)
- Preschool (3-4 years of age)
- Kindergarten (5-6 years of age)
2. Lower Elementary (6-8 Classroom)
- First Grade (6-7 years of age)
- Second Grade (7-8 years of age)
The classrooms at MIM are designed to allow ample opportunity for students to develop individual and social skills by being multi-age environments. This gives students the space to encourage each other, proactively participating in their own learning. Student/Teacher ratios of 5:1 gives us the ability to give most lessons in small groups or individually.
Our interdisciplinary curriculum incorporates all components of a standard core school curriculum. At MIM, students and adults alike are partners in education, taking the child gradually from broad facts to understanding abstract concepts. Each child is a unique individual, deserving of respect and care.
At MIM, we aim to provide an enriching Islamic environment, and our school structure is guided by Islamic teachings. In addition to core classes, our students schedules consist of the following enrichment classes:
- AQI -- Arabic, Quran, Islamic Studies (Daily, 45 mins)
- Physical Education/Gym
2016-2017 MIM Calendar - we DO NOT follow the CR district calendar this year, due to changes in their calendar. We have created our own calendar, based upon several local district's calendars.
